Is Cimetidine Working?

My son (2 yrs) was put on Cimetidine 3 months ago.

This is what we have seen:

Positive:

Temp reduced from 105.9 to 104.5

Negative:

1)Duration is still 5 to 7 days

2)Mouth ulcers - instead of one or two per cheeck, he now has 5 to 7

per side

3)His fever episodes are every 20 to 28 days (no change), but he is

now getting an episode in between (at about 12 to 14 days) with

mouth ulcers and some other syptoms (tummy aches, joint pain etc)but

no fever.

4)In General he seems more bothered by the additional symptoms.

complaining much more about boo boos in his knees, wrists, ankles,

back, elbow...abdominal pain, and mouth ulcers.

Has anyone had cimetidine (after 3 months) turn around and have a

more positive effect?

These changes have happened since starting the cimetidine and no one

is sure if this is just the progression of his , or if it could

be the medication. Could it be a coincidence? Should I continue to

keep him on it?

Any advise would be appreciated. Since the Dr's don't seem to have

a clear feeling I figured I would ask the Moms and Dads, and

hopefully someone has had a similar experience and is willing to

share it.
