,Welcome to the area....We have a 7 year old son with severe autism and then a 4 year old girl and a 1 year old girl. Both of the girls appear to be developmentally fine. Due to not being sure of the whole vaccines and autism connection we did delay our 4 year olds vaccines until we were sure that she was o.k. and just now got her caught up. Our pediatrician was very understanding about our feelings in regards to that decision. We go to the Children's Hospital Physician's in Kent. Not sure where in the Akron area that you live and how far you are willing to drive but the hospital's website would be a great resource for finding a doctor. I actually work at Children's Hospital on one of the inpatient units so I know a lot of the doctor's in the area so if you find a name feel free to run it by

me and I will let you know how that doctor is if you want.I hope that this helps and I would love to offer any other advice if you would like.Again welcome and take care.JenFrom: hearenger <hearenger@...> Sent: Tue, February 16, 2010 10:04:00 AMSubject:

[ ] Dr. recommendations??

My family just recently moved into the Akron area, and we need to find a family practice dr (preferrably) or a pediatrician. I have three kids...our 13 yo has ADD, our 10 yo has autism, and we have a 5 month old who hasn't yet been vaccinated because our child with autism reacted to vaccines three times, and so, we are hesitant. I'm looking for a dr who will take into account the entire family, not just the individual child. (Took the baby to pediatrician, who was VERY judgmental because he hasn't been vaxed yet....I'm not even against vax, but just want to err on the side of cautisn and spread things out a little bit. Won't be going back to this guy because he wouldn't even listen to us) Anyone know adr who would work for us?? We don't mind driving a bit if necessary.

Thanks!
