We are excited to offer this new program collaboration with the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PCBDD) and the Akron Rotary Camp. The Akron Rotary Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). Through this accreditation process camps are assessed on meeting over 300 national camping standards ranging from staff screening and training to activity and program safety.

History

The Akron Rotary Camp has been providing recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families for over 85 years. The camp was founded by and is still the primary project of the Rotary Club of Akron. Akron Rotary Camp is operated by the Akron Area YMCA. Together, the YMCA and Akron Rotary serve over 1000 campers and their families annually through a variety of yearâ€round recreational and support programs.
