Description:

Parent Academies were developed by the Ohio Department of Education to help parents, caregivers, and guardians to support their child’s learning and development. The Parent Academy on Ohio’s Academic Contents Standards will provide an understanding of how the content standards connect to what children are learning in the classroom and how parents can make sure their children are performing at grade level.The workshop engages parents in discussion on:what children should know and be able to do at each grade level;reading the student score report to monitor how children are performing;diagnostic and achievement tests; and how to support childrens learning to help them meet the academic content standards.
