Zeb loves Barney. We have every tape that was ever made and have been to the

stage shows. We have interactive Barney along with a zillion other stuffed

Barneys. We take the big interactive Barney with us everywhere. He has his

own seat and seatbelt. The thing weighs a ton. I am so sick of Barney!!

I know Diane!!! At first I thought it was because he's so simplistic, but

Maddie won't watch Teletubbies, and you can't get more simplistic than

them!!!!! He's the ONLY thing she'll watch!! Well, ok...she will take in

a little basketball with her Dad. Barney and ball....life is good!!! ;-)

It is so cool that Maddie loves to play ball!! And she is so good at it. This

is something she can grow with, now Barney I don't know. The only thing

Rochelle will throw is the vegetables I put on her plate. Tonight she threw a

raw baby carrot right back on my plate. I had to laugh. What am I teaching my

children?

Hi Donna,

You are right. Barney has given me many hours of quiet time so I can do

housework, cook etc. He has been a lifesaver! Zeb has a Barney beach towel

that he uses as his floor mat and watches Barney sitting on that. My

father-in-law found it at a dollar store years ago and it has been one of his

favorite things. He does like Clifford, Dragon Tales, Arthur and a few other

PBS shows but Barney is the man.

Hi Everyone,

Brook loves Barney too. My sister got him the animated Barney several

years ago and we are now on our third one. He loves playing with him but the

problem is that he gets excited and throws him. He's very durable, but I know

this one will break eventually. Does anyone else have one of these for their

Barney fan?

Last year my sister got Brook a special Barney video where you send in your

child's picture and they make a video for your child. It's a birthday video

with your child's head superimposed on a child's body and Barney says the

child's name through out the video.

This sounds great! Where did your sister get it? I haven't seen this

anywhere. Did she get it over the net?

Diane,

My friend did this too. Quite honestly, I don't believe Maddie would

notice, but I may try it. One of our videos has a phone number at the

beginning so you can call and do this. I'll try and find it.

Hi Marisa,

Yes, Zeb has two of the animated Barneys and also the interactive computer

program that interacts with Barney. We have about 30 Barney tapes, backback,

beach bag, towel, magazine subscription, books etc.

LOL I rembember when we bought interactive Barney for his birthday.

When my husband activated it jumped about 4 feet backwards! He was

afraid of it for some reason! He played with the box it came in, but it took

him weeks to warm up to the doll.

Yes Judy. Well, if you think about it, most of those characters are quite

brilliant (color-wise) and since our kids are so visual, maybe that's part of

the attraction?

Seems true. I also thought (from my own child's response) that he trusts

these characters easilier than regular " human " characters. My son has no

trouble with eye contact when it comes to interacting with them.

Hi Judy,

That is too funny. I did give Zeb the heads up that Barney would talk. We are

going out to supper tonight and so far Zeb has 4 Barneys that are coming with

us,rrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Today in adaptive PE class 2 girls from the sixth grade class started singing

all the Barney songs while Rochelle walked the treadmill. Rochelle kept

looking up at them. I made a Barney tape to motivate Rochelle and it was

soooooo cute. They both said they loved Barney when they were younger. And

they are just so good with the kids. They really try to interact and get the

kids attention. They do it on their free time.

Diane :)
