Guest guest
Hi Everyone, For newbies to the world of special education, Section 504 is different than IEP. 504 will be helpful to those individuals who don't qualify for IEP. Usually this consists of individuals with ADHD or very high function autistic individuals. Assessments will have to be done before determining what plan of services can be granted to any individual. Usually a public school system can do an MFE for young children starting in education beginning at age 3. Contact your school districts board of education. Here is a website with some information on what section 504 is: http://www.help4adhd.org/en/education/rights/504 theres more info on more sites too, just search " section 504 " Yours Most Truly, n > > Hello Everyone: > Please see below for a Free Training sponsored by the OCECD on What Parents and Educators Need to Know About Section 504 presented by Chandra Bowling from the Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights.  Please pass this information onto any and all interested families and professionals. Registration is a must and is limited to the first 60 people. Thanks, Barb Rutt >  > Barbara Rutt, S.W.A., Parent Training Coordinator > OCECD-Cleveland Office > 440-617-9544 - Office > 440-617-9547 - Fax > 800-694-6402 - Toll Free > ocecdbr@... > www.ocecd.org >  > " If you treat an individual as he is, that is all he >  will ever be. Only if you treat him as he ought to > be, will he ever have a chance to become what he > ought and could.
