RECALLS

1. Daiso Recalls Children's Toys, Purses and Pen Cases Due to Violation of Lead Paint and Phthalate Limits

Please visit www.cpsc.gov for more detail on this recall and photos of recalled items. This website notifies consumers about product recalls due to a variety of safety hazards a few times a week.

Sing up to receive email notifications about other recalls from the www.cpsc.gov website. Toys are tested every day for lead paint and other health hazards - you may really want to know about them!

2. Tylenol® product recall.

Certain lots of Tylenol® products have been recalled due to potential bacterial contamination. Please carefully check your home to see if you have any of these affected lots. You may find the lot numbers on the bottoms of the boxes containing the liquid product and also on the sticker that surrounds the product bottle. If you have Tylenol® products at home, you may refer to the long list of affected Tylenol® products on the website [http://www.tylenol.com/] www.tylenol.com or if you have specific questions about the recall you may call the McNeil manufacturer at 1-800-962-5357 (available Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time).

SURVEYS

1. Restraint, Aversive Interventions and Seclusion Survey

APRAIS, The Alliance to Prevent Restraint, Aversive Interventions and Seclusion, is a coalition of 17 national disability advocacy organizations and Families Against Restraint and Seclusion is a member.

We are conducting this survey of parents and guardians to establish the extent to which restraint, seclusion and aversive procedures have been used with students with disabilities and special needs (whether served under IDEA or under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act) in public or private schools or in residential facilities.

Please pass this on to any families that you think would be interested in filling out our survey.

Please note: If you have completed any previous questionnaires on this topic or provided other information, the information you reported will not be included as a part of these results. You must complete this survey for your responses to be included.

The survey will be available for completion until October 12th, 2009.

Approximately five to ten minutes will be required to complete the survey.

Click HERE and you will be ready to start the survey!

Thank you!!

2. SURVEY on seizures and autism

Please consider completing this survey if you have a child with autism who also has a seizure disorder. Scroll down below to read the purpose of the study, or just go straight to the survey.

Dear Parent:

You can further research by filling out a survey form created by Dr. Frye with the help of Prof. , Science Coordinator of ARI/Defeat Autism Now. We think that this very detailed form will provide a deeper understanding of the efficacy and possible side effects of current treatments for seizures.

Thank you very much for helping us look for answers.

Sincerely, E. Frye, M.D., Ph.D.
