Guest guest
hi,i find myself even more torn this year with whether or not to get my kids these vaccines. Now, there is an H1N1 vaccine to ponder additionally and between these two flu vaccines there are several forms (nasal mist, shots with thimerisol, shots without thimerisol, boosters, etc) I have 2 kids...one " typical " 8 year old girl and one son,6, with a dual diagnosis of autism and mosaic down syndrome. I am on the fence with " shots " ,mercury, etc. but also know that my son tends to have a lowered immunity, get sick easier and longer, but thank goodness nothing extreme yet involving hospital, etc. My ped.can give my son 2, .25 seasonal flu shots without mercury (he needs .5 now, they only have toddler/infant .25 doses, but she is willing to give him 2 together to equal .5 dose for his age). I was just wondering your opinion, experience, thoughts, etc. I realize ultimately that i have to " do what's best " for my kids, I just wish i had a crystal ball!! Please share your thoughts with me..so far, no vaccines of either flu strain yet..............still on the fence......HELP! -lisa
