Guest guest
He sure didn't seem to "know his stuff" at the meeting I attended. He was VERY vague as to who he would accept into his program on the spectrum. WHen I began questioning his definition of Asperger's, he couldn't give me a comprehensive answer. He then waivered to say that they would probably be taking kids that are higher functioning, too. Again, I asked for him to define that for me. They seem to know ADHD, for sure. Autism, not so sure. I have heard both good and bad stories about his former school. The more I questioned, the more he seemed to be unsure (i.e., sensory adaptations, etc.). Again, this was only one meeting and it was at night and he was extremely tired (he actually was falling asleep while the other guy was talking), so you never know. Also, he's a BIG believer about mixing ADHD & aspie kids. All left and right brained kind of stuff (which is a big generalization, but true). Anyway, I sure would love to find out more info. Not saying this is bad by any means, but it would be worth further exploration.AmyFrom: Meghan <meghananderson_aba@...>Subject: [ ] Re: Anyone heard of ASD Educational Systems? - Big Ad in Post Newspa" " < >Date: Saturday, September 18, 2010, 11:18 AM If it's DiMizzio, he is awesome and really knows his stuff. The problem is the therapeutic martial arts would have to be in the child's IEP to be covered by asp and I'm pretty sure there would be a fight with most school districts.
