You Can Still Register for

BLUE RIBBON PROGRAMSthis Summer!

The Blue Ribbon Program at Solon Recreation is still taking registrations for many of its programs. English, the program's coordinator wanted to draw attention to a number of programs that need a few more applications to run, such as the Softball League, Cinema Cruiser and Cookout with Volleyball.

Please help get the word out and let everyone you know about thse great programs, helping self-esteem, socialization and enjoyment for participants. Please read program descriptions below.

Softball League Ages 5 and up

The Softball League has just enough registrations for two small adult teams and just barely enough for the youth league to make a go of it.

Join us for the seventh year of our Adapted Baseball Program! There is a Youth and Adult League. Everyone participates, all abilities welcome, and play is adapted to individual needs. There will be a Pizza Party the last day of play.

Ages: Persons with disabilities ages 5 and up

Days: Sundays

Dates: June 6th –July 18th, No game July 4th

Time: 1:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Location: Solon Community Park Fields near Parkside Elementary

Fee: $35.00 includes team baseball cap, shirt and pizza party.

Registration: Now until June 1st

Limit: None

Cinema Cruiser

Join us for trip to a local restaurant for dinner, and to the Solon Cinemas to see a movie.

Ages: Persons with Disabilities age 16 and over.

Day: Friday

Date: May 21st

Time: Leave 5:30 p.m

Return 9:00 to 9:45p.m.(return time verified that evening )

Location: Meet at the Solon Community Center front door

Fee: $30.00

Registration: Now through May 19th

Limit: 7

Cookout and Volleyball

And don't forget about our June Event for ages 12 and over!

Join us for our 5th annual official start of summer fun. Enjoy grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and sand volleyball.

Ages: Persons with disabilities ages 12 and older

Day: Friday

Date: June 4th.

Time: 6:30-9:00p.m.

Location: Solon Community Park Pavilion 3 (Portz Parkway by baseball diamond 5)

Fee: $7.00 Registration: Now through June 2nd

Limit: 50

Register in person at the Solon Community Center, 35000 Portz Pkwy., Solon, Ohio from 8a.m. to 7p.m.

Please allow enough time prior to event for mail in registration.
