Guest guest
Feel free to contact me offline for more info- We use Early Intervention Consultants and they have been Great. Our consultant runs programs for the 2 tutors that work at home with him. She also works with our 2 SLT (They are from 2 different organizations), his preschool (MEEC) and his OT. She has observed all the different therapists. She makes sure that everyone is teaching the same thing and also makes programs for the tutors to run. She works directly with the tutors at least every 6 weeks to show them new techniques. Since I have so many providers not working for the same company, she is really doing a great job coordinating everyone. > > Can you specifically tell me the duties of your consultant? In addition to team meetings and developing and maintaing a program book, what do they do? > 1. When instituting new programs, do they provide the materials/resources to do so or are you expected to do that?2. If your child is school age, how is their interaction with the school? Do they observe at the school on an ongoing basis or just when you request it?3. Do they actually work with your child or observe tutors doing so? > Thanks for any other information you could share. The more specific, the better. Thanks. > Amy >
Guest guest
Typically, a consultant can do as much or as little as you want them to. Since most work on a hourly basis, the more your consultant does with repect to your program, the more that person will charge. It's important that you decide what you want from your consultant and develop a list of expectations. Once you have a list of expectations, you can interview several consultants to see which one(s) best fit. The consultants I've worked with over the years have provided some materials; however, I was expected to provide the bulk of materials (e.g., toys, books, games, etc.). I hope this helps. Thanks.
