Guest guest
Dear Autism Group:My 14 year old Autistic son has started to experience sexual feelings and I am not sure how to handle. I have caught my son has been masturbating in his room and he was reported in school by one of his teachers masturbating during class. In addition, I have contacted my son's Neurologist and his pediatrician and there is nothing they can do. My question to the Autism group is "are there hormone pills for special needs teens" to control their desires? Special needs teens have extra high sensory and I am not sure how to handle. Can someone refer a doctor who can help my son and/or give advise on how to deal with this situation. Our children are getting older and their needs are changing all the time. Any advise and/or comments are very much appreciated.Thank you for listening.Sincerely, Pannell
Guest guest
Hi , There is a counselor who specializes in sexual health, wellness, and relationships with children with disabilities. I am organizing her to come to Norwalk, Oh for a free speaking engagement in September but I'm sure she'd give you some good information if you contacted her directly. Her name is Richelle Frobatta and her email address is: richellef@... <mailto:richellef@...> She is published, a prof at Miami and also has her own practice in southern Ohio. Hope this helps. -Lindsey ________________________________ From: on behalf of Pannell Sent: Tue 6/29/2010 5:24 PM ' ' Subject: [ ] 14 year old likes girls Dear Autism Group: My 14 year old Autistic son has started to experience sexual feelings and I am not sure how to handle.
