Guest guest
Hi ,My daughter is the opposite, she is hitting her marks in academics but her sensory disorder and ADHD gets her in trouble to sit still and follow directions in class. Then she gets privileges taken away for her behavior. She loves school and I want it to continue to be a positive thing for her so she doesn't not want to go.BarbFrom: <cowie65@...>Subject: [ ] Too advanced Date: Sunday, June 27, 2010, 12:30 AM Has anyone every felt that there child was too advanced for the program they had them in? How do you "check out" programs to see the severity of the children? I'm not being ignorant but is on the high end socially and middle to low academically and I find it hard to have him in typical kids because he's not up to their level and find many programs the kids are too severe and he's not being forced to step up to the plate. Guest guest
We are similar to Barb's situation. DS is on track academically (and even a bit advanced in some areas), but is way behind socially. I think I underestimated the effect typical peers have on him. He really needs these models. I know this isn't true for everyone, though. --is your son included or in a self-contained classroom? Guest guest
He will be going to Billiart so the students have learning disabilities and/or on the spectrum. He was included for K and 1st grade and was lost academically but did very well socially. andrea > > From: <cowie65hotmail (DOT) com> > Subject: [ ] Too advanced > @group s.com > Date: Sunday, June 27, 2010, 12:30 AM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > Has anyone every felt that there child was too advanced for the program they had them in?
