Guest guest
My son had a T & A in August. He missed a few fever cycles, but has now started up again, with one in Dec and another exactly 3 weeks later in early January. All the same symptoms... high fever (104), dark circles under his eyes, leg pain, and headache.... lasting for 3-4 days. My son turned 6 in October. He has had since he was 4 1/2 yrs old (diagnosed by Dr. Feder in CT and at NIH). He has had a fever every 3 weeks for 32 months, with two breaks of a couple months. His episodes started with a series of infections - two ear infections and strep throat - all three weeks apart. I wish I could do something more for him. I know you all know exactly how I'm feeling right now! - Disappointed and Frustrated Mom

Guest guest
Patty, I'm so sorry to hear that the T & A didn't work for your child. I'm sure you are very devastated. You are certainly seeing the right doctor, though. Just out of curiosity - since you're the first one I recall seeing that the fevers returned after T & A, do you regret having the surgery done? Thank you! Guest guest
Patty, No we aren't in the Hartford Area - I'm actually in Atlanta (Alpharetta/Roswell area), but my pediatrician follows Dr. Feder's articles and lectures. My pediatrician actually has 3 cases, so he does a lot more research than most other pediatricians. We think he is FANTASTIC. We didn't have to go through so much wondering about the " it's just a virus " . Best of luck in finding a cure or method to deal with this disorder for you, your son, and your family.
