Guest guest
I'm just wondering if the ID doc is who I should be seeing. What doctors did you find the best most thorough answers with and who knew a lot about ? Also, I'm wondering if there is anyone here in the Austin, TX area who has a doc they like? thanks! andrea (anna 3.5, eliza 17 months, fevering since 10 months)
Guest guest
We are taking our son, , to a pediatric rhuematologist at the Phoenix Children's Hospital on May 9th. I wasn't getting ANY help from our pediatrician so I did a little research on my own. When I pulled up the children's hospital website and started looking at specialties, the rhuematologist had " fever of unknown origin " and " periodic fever " in his list of common diagnoses. I was THRILLED! When I called to make the appointment with him, the woman asked what needed to be seen for and I told her and she said I was COMING TO THE RIGHT PLACE! So, needless to say, I would look there first? I do know people have suggested various different specialists, but it seemed to match what was going on with . Good luck to you! Guest guest
Hi , We are in NJ. Go see a Pediatric Rheumatologist. I too started with a Pediatric ID doc but left there totally disappointed...she said she saw about 2 cases a year (not good). Where my Ped Rheum doc sees 2 kids a week with Periodic Fevers! My regular Ped also recommended I see a Ped Rheum. My Ped Rheum doc was very knowledgeable about all of the Periodic Fevers, their symptoms, their tests, their treatments, etc! Hope that helps!
