Hello and families :)Yes, we have 1 month to plan something!!! I think the light it up blue or blue ribbon around trees would be better than a balloon release. Peak Potential Therapy would love to participate in an event, but don't have the time to coordinate it. I did some quick research online. For blue light bulbs, they range from $1.00 for a 25 watt bulb to $30 for a spot light blue bulb. As for awareness ribbons, I found premade bows that are 2.5" wide ribbon with 6 loops and 8.5" diameter, 12 bows/$20. http://www.holidaybows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info & cPath=230 & products_id=1078Unless someone could donate/find rolls of ribbon, but then we need to find people to make all the bows. Please keep me posted. We'd love to help in any way we can. Have a good night. Best, Holly Reimann, MA CCC-SLP Speech-language Pathologist, Owner Peak Potential Therapy

Hey all,As you may know, the United Nations has declared April 2nd as World Autism Awarenss Day. There are some campaigns associated with this, such as Light It Up Blue from Autism Speaks (http://www.lightitupblue.org/).I am interested in trying to get a local campaign started. It might be as simple as blue ribbons around trees or a blue balloon release. I have little time to give so I'm interested in generating high impact ideas that have minimal time requirement. I am nearly certain we could get media coverage if we get some kind of local movement. I'm not sure if CCF Lerner, Monarch, Achievement Center, JB, or other school/entity is already working on this and definitely don't want to re-invent the wheel, so please let me know if something is already underway. If you're interested in helping or if you have an idea, feel free to contact me or post it here. I already have a few media connections (the Fish and FOX), but others would be helpful. PSA spots from local media would be great. Also, if you have a distribution list (not for public use, but a group of advocates you can forward information to), please let me know so that you can forward info as details emerge. Thanks and hope your family is holding up through these last days of winter. D. Irvinphillip.irvin@...216-375-1557

Hi Shari,Wondering what you might think about the idea of " Blue to the Q " on April 2nd.  That's when ASGC is holding their annual Chili Cookoff from 1-3pm.  More details are posted on the ASGC.org website for it.  But I thought what a wonderful combo to bring together blue and help a cause at the same time.
