Guest guest
Still to this day my son gets a fever every time he gets hurt or some kind of trauma be it a spider bite, tooth pulled or hit by a ball in the mouth. He fell and sprained his wrist and we were back at the dr. the next day with a fever. so I think yes anything is possible with these kids. Good luck char. ************** Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi, my name is Angie and I'm married to my sweet husband . We have a beautiful red headed son, Aiden , who will be three on January 24th. In July of 2007 Aiden was with a babysitter and fell from a piece of playground equipment breaking his leg. He had a spiral fracture and was in a hip spica cast for several weeks. About a week after surgery to place the cast and reset his bone, he got a fever. There were no other symptoms, it was high (or at least I thought so at the time, it got up to 104.7) and it lasted for seven days. We thought there was an infection in the break. We ruled that out. The fever resolved on his own. That was the first of the cycles. Every thirty days he has fever and it lasts for seven days, the highest being 106. He usually throws up once, usually on the second day or so. Other than that he doesn't complain of any pain, he drinks and eats well, unless the temp is high, no sore throat, no urinary tract infections, nothing on blood tests. I kept telling people it was happening every thirty days, but no one believed me. I started keeping detailed records in October. We saw an infectious disease specialist the beginning of January, he suggested that Aiden has and we are waiting on a referral to a rheumatodologist (sp?). Other than the fevers, Aiden is a healthy, happy, highly intelligent little boy. We have another son, , who is 22 months old. is adopted and also healthy, happy, and intelligent, not that I'm bragging on my babies. We have lost three children, two miscarriages and one stillbirth. I'm off to peruse the archives, but I have some questions. 1. Is it going to be okay? I know that sounds silly, but I'm not so sure right now. I'm hurting for my little boy and watching him be in pain every month for a week. And I'm really tired of waiting on doctors to do their job right now. 2. Have any of you heard of an accident or surgery triggering this? 3. What should we be talking with the next doctor about? How should we be involving our pediatrician, who is wonderful? 4. I know there is no direct genetic link right now, but has anyone else experienced miscarriages or stillbirths that has a child with this? Thanks for reading and the help!
