Administering Prednisone...

Hi everyone,

I'm sure this question has been replied to before, but does anyone

have good ideas for administering Pred? We have tried the liquid and

pill form, hiding it in everything from chocolate milk to ice cream -

nothing seems to work. It is impossible for us to get our 2 1/2 year

old daughter to take the Pred on its own - and I can't blame her...it

tastes terrible!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We also tried it all and nothing seemed to mask that taste! But

finally, apple juice seemed to work - just mix the dose in a small

cup of apple juice and have her sip it thru a straw with some

pretzels to munch on. We called it 'magic apple juice' and that did

the trick. Sometimes, my husband would pour his own cup (without the

pred in it) and they drank it together.

We use the tablet form. We hide it in a big spoonful of chocolate pudding

and tell our son to swallow it without biting.
