Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm sure this question has been replied to before, but does anyone have good ideas for administering Pred? We have tried the liquid and pill form, hiding it in everything from chocolate milk to ice cream - nothing seems to work. It is impossible for us to get our 2 1/2 year old daughter to take the Pred on its own - and I can't blame her...it tastes terrible! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Guest guest
Hi , Not sure if by pill form you mean ODT(Oral Dissolving Tablets)? We initially tried the liquid form but unfortunately my son vomits during episodes normally so the Prednisone made it that much worse. Our ped recommended the ODT form and that was amazingly easier. We just drop the tablet in his mouth, sort of hold his mouth closed a few seconds, and by the time he opens his mouth it's it's partially dissolved and bitten into pieces. MUCH, MUCH EASIER THAN THE LIQUID. I couldn't believe our doctor didn't recommend the ODT form to us in the first place. Hope this helps!
