Hi all, I was wondering what anyone going trough treatment or has went

through could answer my a question. I read online that the side

affects that they talk about are more common than they lead you to

believe. It's sort of when someone tells you having a baby doesnt

hurt, so you won't be scared, and that if they told you the whole

truth most won't try treatment and some are sorry they did treatment.

Then it went on to say all the negative and other very serious

conditions can develop way after one stops the treatment. I go

thursday afternoon for my first treatment shot, my doctor wants to

show me how to do it.

My sister had cancer and she said that when they put her on chemo,

they told her the same thing everyones different, well she was sick as

a dog, and everyone she met was also, so is the same, they just tell

you what they want you to hear? marsha

Hi Marsha,

I'm geno 1a & did tx twice but didn't respond either time. I only did 16 weeks tx both times but wworked 40 hr/wk with no problem. My major side was "flu-like symptoms" - aches, slight fever etc. If I could do tx again, I would. It is different for everyone.

I get that the shots are like injecting yourself with the flu, last one to 3 days at a time.

Are the pills going to make me feel the same way????????

What I said, Tonni is that the shot and the pills together equaled my side effects. I'm not sure which one caused which side effect. But neither was more than I could handle with rest and staying away from stress as much as possible. I feel sorry for your husband's first wife having to "buck up" through her cancer therapy and continue as if nothing were going on. Stand your ground, take care of yourself the best you can and leave something for him to do for you. God hears your prayers and He knows what is going on around you and He knows your heart as well as that of your husband. I pray that you will work things out to get the treatment you need. Hugs, VickieG
