Guest guest
Hi , I experienced the same thing. In fact, I wrote my first email to the group last Sat. and complained of the same thing. Logically, I knew the program was working because I felt so much better and my clothes were much looser. But that emotional tie to the scale and numbers die hard! Interestingly, this week, I have shed 2 pounds - see I still can't give up the scale! Seriously, my real motivation is how much better I feel on a day to day basis and am much less concerned with the numbers!! Good Luck,
Guest guest
Boy, can I relate to this scale thing. I guess I will never completely give it up. But, I am taking this approach. I have a pair of leather pants I got on clearance this year. Right now, There is a 5 inch comfortable gap between the button and the buttonhole. I am letting this be my new scale. What do you think? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi everyone! Thanks so much to those who responded to my " scale " anxiety. i've come to the conclusion that weight is the biggest, most misleading indicator of progress. Anyhow, I've really looked into my perfecting my meals so that I KNOW that Im not sabotaging my efforts, and after following the six small meal plan today with the number of calories I should be taking in per meal, I'm so hungry! So here's my question: When you break down your required caloric intake into six meals, do any of you have larger meals at the beginning of the day and smaller ones for the last two? Also, I think that the " pair of pants " philosophy is GREAT, and one that I've always tried to follow-however, my curiosity got the best of me and then threw me for a loop on Saturday! Yikes! Good luck to all and have a GREAT Sunday! :-)

Guest guest
Thanks, Kit for the pointers on the meals-I've since added MANY veggies to curb my between meal hunger. I also feel better knowing that each meal doesn't have to be a certain amount. Thanks again! Also, I'm wondering if any of you out there feel MORE thirsty after upping the water intake so much? I've found that I'm now wondering how in the world I ever managed to drink less than eight glasses of water a day! It's amazing. Hope everyone has a great day! I'm going to get my bodyfat tested tomorrow-it'll be a big day! :-)
Guest guest
Hi, Cristi! I just got my bodyfat tested today, and went found that I went from 21%-17.5%!(for whatever that half percentage is worth! !! ???) They used the calipers, which were attached to a computer-and it was a 3-site test. I'm sure everyone else out there knows more about this than I do, but from what I've read before, most of the bodyfat tests have a standard error of like, 2-4% sometimes! I've read that the most accurate measure is the hydraulic measure, where you get into a big tub of water-but it's pretty expensive, I think about $75 or so. SO-what I've decided to do is use the same person and the same calipers so tha each time I do this, I'll at least get an accurate loss, despite the number itself! What works for you? (PS-I'm finishing my first gallon) :-)
Guest guest
Hi, , I totally feel this way too. The more I drink the more water my body wants. I can't imagine why my body didn't just shut down when I was only drinking less then eight glasses a day! It IS amazing. And I would love to hear about how you are going to get your bodyfat tested. I know there are different ways. Is one way more accurate? :-) Cristi w6d2BFL Re: Hi from > Also, I'm wondering if any of you out there feel MORE thirsty after upping > the water intake so much? Guest guest
Hi everybody! Wenoka and Barbie: Thanks for the info, I don't mind " lectures " , they help remind you to do the right thing! You both reminded me that someone I know moved while pregnant, did a little too much and went into labor the next day. I'm going so far as to call today for an estimate on a packing service. My MIL and SIL and sister would probably help, but MIL and SIL are a wee bit opinionated and would probably drive me nuts running the whole show. Whereas I want packed the way I want it done, you know? So bossing around some strangers would probably be much easier!!! Depends on the cost though. My MIL has been sooo helpful, she takes during the mornings on Mon/Wed/Fri, though she has work on Tues/Thurs she tries to work something in when she can. Today she went with to 's gymnastics class to run around after her. I don't know what I'd do without her. I'm on " pelvic rest " but at least not bed rest (yet!). Had my 30 wk appt yesterday and he wouldn't even do an internal exam, since I just had one last week and he said internals can trigger contractions. Just watching the cramping/contracting activity. I'm supposed to call if I have 3 contractions in 30 minutes. I went ahead at that appointment and discussed when to call for what, discussed what happened with my last labor and how to do it differently this time (they gave me Pitocin just for showing up and I went from fingertip to 9cm in one excruciating hour, though that was likely caused by the abruption I still want to wait on the Pitocin), so I feel like I have a measure of control or preparation at least. On-topic, is either showing " Sinus Behavior " or she's possessed. Man, she was a BEAST yesterday!!! In putting together stuff for our mold lawsuit, I was able to see some definite patterns for sinus infections. She always has the behavior issues, then she always has night-waking. Sometimes she gets a strawberry-looking tongue, rarely a low-grade fever. You have to live through all that for anywhere from two days to a week or two before the green stuff comes and they'll believe you!!!! I'd have to look at the notes again to see how long ago she finished off her abx for the last one. If it's 7-10 days ago, I might as well place a bet it's sinus again! But let's hope it's not. No biggie -- could be much worse. I would just worry because it seems like each time she has a sinus infection it takes more and more abx to clear it. Sound familiar??!!!! Haven't caught up on all the mail -- hope you're all doing well and the pumpkins are feeling good. Thanks again for everybody's input on the contractions/labor stuff, I really appreciate it. Guest guest
Hi , It's nice to hear from you I was beginning to worry a little, I'm glad everything is okay for now. Regarding 's sinus infection: do they switch the meds around? Or do they prefer to keep giving her stronger doses of the same med? She could need to change meds each time, or at least frequently. Yes. This is quite common with Di Syndrome, or 22q11 deletion. Kody has a submucus cleft palate, but it is also very high arched. I have heard others with 22q talk about this. I think there is information on this at www.vcfs.net it's mentioned on their " fact sheet " , and I think in the Parent Handbook. Guest guest
Macey has a high arched palate. They related it to her possible Ehlers Danlos type 4 and she has needed 3 years of Speech Therapy to help with her speech. She still has speech apraxia and articulation delays but at 8 years old she basically just still sounds like she has a baby voice. As she gets closer to middle school we will re-assess things again. I'm not sure if it is related but she also has problems remembering to swallow saliva, and then it pools in on her bottom lip and sometimes drips. Could be just a lower jaw muscle weakness (which we already know she has but it's never been associated with this) or could be palate related I guess. Guest guest
Hi , I will keep all fingers and toes crossed that all goes well for you and your disability will be approved. I know how aggravating it is. I remember writing to the Congressman for my husband and anyone else the attorney thought might help. You keep your spirits up and it will come your way before you know it. Have a great day, Update *Good morning everyone* I filed for Disability Income back in 2002 I've been denied twice, filed for a hearing, had my case suspended, reinstated, and finally they have scheduled a hearing sometime in November of 2008. I pray everything goes well and that I am approved.*Hugs Love & Prayers*
