Guest guest
Kurtis was " scheduled " to get a fever Thursday, December 11th, but he started getting Croup symptoms (hoarsness, coughing, etc.) on December 6th. I took him to the doctor on Monday and he said it was Croup. Wednesday his eyes started watering and were a little red (even a little greenish discharge Thursday night, but not very much). Thursday came and went with no fever. Friday, no fever. His croup symptom are almost gone. Is it possible that because he had another virus his body skipped this episode? Or, could it have just delayed it? Has this happened to anyone before? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that he's not suffering from another episode, but in a way I'm disappointed because I'm afraid this will be a set back as far as getting a diagnosis. I have another question. Does anyone know of any doctors in Pennsylvania that have experience with . We live in a small town in central PA and I have called several doctors in our area and none of them have heard of it. His pediatrician is " looking into it " but wants me to keep a diary for a few more months before we do anymore testing. But to us that means 5 or 6 more fevers without being any closer to a diagnosis. We have an appoinment on the 29th with Dr. Licameli in Boston, but that is an 8 hour drive for us. We were hoping to find someone a little closer. Dr. Licameli's assistant thought maybe someone at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia? Thanks!
