Guest guest
Cameron may be getting ready to fever again. And today he has been like gaging on food. He spits up and vomites his food. But its not like a upset stomach vomit he starts gaging on the food and then vomites. Sorry if this is TMI. I was wondering if this could be related to or is it something different. He usually vomits while in a Fever cycle but this gaging thing is different. Its as if he throut wont let food pass. Any Ideas? Guest guest
, Our son is 2yr 8mo old now. He has been fevering since he was 3mo old. His fevers were always 2 weeks 13-15 days like clockwork. Once in awhile he would have a 1 weeker, but other than that very predictable. When he turned 2 things slowly started changing. His glands began getting really large and painful (never positive for strep) and his fever cycles started changing. He would go 3 weeks, have one, then 1 week later have one, go for 2 weeks a few times, and then 3 weeks, make it for 2 weeks again, then have another 1 weeker. It started skipping around. I don't know if this is because he was trying to outgrow it, or what (there is alot of guessing with this still). We opted for a T & A which he had on Aug 5th. He was due for his next episode on the 9th and didn't have one. He didn't even fever from the surgery which the ENT said was normal. His next is due the 23rd, I am waiting to see what happens. I did notice his face looking swollen yesterday which was always a sign...hoping I didn't put him thru the surgery for nothing. It has worked for so many others I hope it works for him also. Tyler has always had a gagging problem. It has gotten better as he became older, but he has never been very adventuresome with trying new foods. He used to always vomit with the fevers until we put him on the naproxen. Then he only vomitted twice in a year and a half. Hope this helps you a little. Best wishes to your son and your family. Guest guest
It is not unusual for some of the symptoms to not appear occasionally. In fact, you will over time find that a " cycle " will get skipped entirely. Our daughter, was diagnosed with at age 2 and she is now about to turn 6. For what it's worth, our experience is that when she skips a cycle or two, the next episode is going to be a bit more intensive (i.e., more lethargic, quicker to spike fevers if any delay in medicating, etc.). Mouth sores, grumpy, clingy? Those are the signs of an episode onset in as well. There is no cookie cutter for this thing. Not every symptom will appear every time - but most times all the symptoms appear. And the cycle times may change as your son ages. Definitely keep a calendar and review it every 6 months to see if a new pattern is forming. Keep the faith! > > > So now I posted this and he didnt fever.
