Guest guest
hmm- they are referring to the fact that most providers will give antibiotics for virus infections because the patients are demanding them- the provider doesn't take the time to Educate the patient about the difference between viruses and bacterial infections; and so they don't want to argue and fight with the patients and the parents of the patients, so they give in and write for antibiotics. I don't practice that way- never did- I stand my ground and educate them and tell I absolutely refuse to give antibiotics for viruses Unless the patient has a compromised immune system like from AIDS, chemo etc because the odds are very great that they will develop a bacterial infection. nancie [ ] Doctors Told to Stop Giving Antibiotics for Colds Antibiotics are for infections.
