Guest guest
hello all My doctor suggests i might have a thyroid problem. As adrenal problems normally go hand in hand with thyroid i was wondering what are the best tests for adrenal and thyroid function? Can i request the thyroid tests on the NHS in a particular way? i might have some money for adrenal ones. cheers -- is
Guest guest
Hi is, Ideally you would want your GP to test TSH, Free T4, Free T3 and antibodies, whether the Dr or the lab will do these - you will have to see. For the adrenal testing, the 24hr Genova Adrenal Stress Profile is what is usually recommended. Would you be able to join the Thyroid Patient Advocacy group Forum? They would be able to give you alot of advice + you can get discounts from Genova on the tests as well from them. Here is their website: http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/ There is a link to the forum on the second tab down on the left hand side. Good luck - it is very positive that your Dr is thinking along these lines. > > hello all > > My doctor suggests i might have a thyroid problem.
