Their health was dramatically changed by their pregnancy, often permanently. With CMT it's very risky to generalize. Unfortunately, we can't know who may progress much faster due to the stress of pregnancy, but some definitely do. Of course, the children are loved regardless. Did any of your children inherit Jane? Just curious. I was the last of 5 children, and the only one who inherited in my family. Kat in Seattle
Guest guest
Kat: So far only one of my girls has shown some possible symptoms. The oldest (14) has weak ankles, starting to trip when she runs part of the time. She is in volleyball--she fractured the side of her left hand just below the little finger when she was in third grade and that spot gives her problems part of the time. They usually wrap her wrist to help support it. Lord-Willing things will not be serious. Your comments on pregnancy was very interesting. My obyn doctor really didn't know anything about CMT, basically very, very few in our area have ever seen CMT in real life-only studied briefly when getting their degrees. This was the first I knew that problems have arose during pregnancy. Thanks for the input.
