Guest guest
Just wanted to share with you that my son has recently been diagnosed with chronic lyme following a Borrelia-Elispot-LTT blood test! My son is 9 years old and has never had a tick bite in my knowledge! He has regressive autism and was not really apparent until over 2 and 3/4! He is non verbal and suffers from many gut issues! I have bio-meded him for years and has been on diets since diagnosis. I posted a while back as he was having these terrible monthly meltdowns that started in July last year. They last exactly 7 days and happen every 4 and 1/2 weeks! After researching Lymes I realised this seem to be the possible cause of these meltdowns as it can be very cyclic in its behaviour and the body struggles to deal with it when it is active and this causes what Lyme sufferers call flare up's! I think some other bacterial or viral infection may have triggered a big immune response that caused these new more severe flare ups. I am wondering now if all his bad times may have been quite cyclic had they been more severe so I had noticed them more. I had no idea my son had Lymes but had read a lot about the big link to this and autism! we have all seen the French antibiotic videos recently too which show more research being done on this bacterial infection link to autism! We have started the long haul treatment this week and are using both bio-med and abx and we are under Breakspear and a great naturopath/herbalist! I wanted to share this as if anyone has any thoughts about their own child having Lymes, that they may also go ahead and test! It is possible we pass it on to our children in the womb, and it lays dormant until a immune type trigger such as vaccinations. illnesses etc. There is a fairly new very sensitive test that picks up antibodies. My son tested negative to the standard NHS Lymes test, and inconclusive to the Western Blot (although leaning towards positive) But the Borrelia-Elispot-LTT was clearly positive. Also wondered if anyone else on the group is treating their child for Lymes?? Thanks Sophie x
