Guest guest
Hi Leah... Good to hear from you and great to hear you are doing well. You are working with the band by the sounds of it, not against it which I do from time to time. Families... don't go there with me!!!! Now, something I discussed with at Dr. Gods surgery the other day (prior to my rather big hiccup which is now another hiccup in itself... long story). I was telling that my way around my weird eating habits when out with friends is that I have a gluten intollerance. Well... I do in a way - my band hates bread and all things doughy or wheaty! So, I use this gluten intollerance excuse and it has gotten me out of all sorts of situations. Dinner Saturday night for example; I had eaten a small amount of lamb, a small amount of salad and a small amount of yummy potatoes. I couldn't fit dessert in, it was apple pie and ice cream... so couldn't have the wheat pastry - easy solution. I can't have ice cream either - it will not go down at all - causes ongoing nasty pain for about 1/2 an hour - so I have given it up as well. Tried gelato, no go - and the Frousse if left unfrozen is ok, but not frozen - go figure? So, the gluton intollerance is a good excuse to get out of eating all sorts of things... and you can also add a lactose intollerance as well for good measure! Mel >> Hi everyone> > Ghyll, welcome back and I am so glad you are doing better now, my > thoughts were with you always.> > Me, I am now nearly 3 months post band, and WOW what a difference, I > seem to be using the band well, have had no PB's or come even close.> > Have gone from 165kg to 143kg and feeling so bloody good it is > sickening...> > No real comments are coming my way yet, it is funny, I was at dinner > the other night and someone said, 'you look great, how much have you > lost', I was about to answer when I realised they were asking the > lady next to me who had lost the grand total of 2.3 kg.....ugh!!, > made me laugh though, which make people look at me strange....they > must have thought, how rude, you of all people should acknowledge > weight loss etc....blah blah...HHAHAHA...little do they know..> > I am walking and moving around better then I have for years and I am > only 36!!> > I have had a few issues personally with the band, more along the > lines of not telling people and people guessing and asking me full > frontal if I had it done...and this is my hubbies family...RUDE...I > lied and said no, is this a bad thing > > I think it is my choice to tell people and If I havent told you then > I dont want you to know...easy!> > Anyway, just wanted to chat and say Hi> > Leah> > banded 16/8 Wollongong>
Guest guest
Mel That is a good cover – I am supposed to be gluten intolerant – but I still do it. If you get caught eating something with wheat, you have to be prepared tho to say, yes I know but sometimes I just have to eat something bad, but boy will I pay for it tomorrow. Have used that a few times because my neighbour's apple strudel goes down an absolute treat and obviously has wheat but how can one resist? I would like to follow you on the lactose, but what if they tried to force me to have a soy latte – errrch! I would rather chew broken glass.
