Guest guest
Yes, we have seen the immunologists at Sick Kids hospital in Toronto. We live in London Ont and received a referral from our Infectous Disease specialist. Our son is 3 and has been fevering since 8 months and have brought up the T & A with them, but at this time, they are not advising us to go that route. 's fevers only last 2-3 days and have been more managable since he started taking Singulair 1.5 years ago. We are not ruling surgery out however, but have decided to wait until he is a little older. Best of luck! , mother to 38 months - fevering since 8 months. London Ontario Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry
Guest guest
- We went the T & A route without trying anything else out first. I've read enough stories on this board to realize that none of the drugs are without fail or problems. My son was an infant when he first started fevering and the docs suggested all of the various pharmaceuticals when he was just over a year. NO WAY. I really don't see that taking a drug on a daily basis is a solution, but rather a mask. The only cure I read about was T & A. We did this when my son was 24mos. I am so thankful we did it early and do not have to suffer this for years with medication. I would not call T & A routine, but it certainly is a very common surgery, our experience was routine though. As scary as surgery was, I found the prospect of another fever episode much more terrifying. We have been fever free now since May. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Thanks for the response. We think ver much alike. I having been trying to get an appointment with our Pediatrician. The office is a nightmare. I hope to get him to give us a referral to an immunologist at Sick Kids in Toronto. I really would like to have some support. The Rheum. is not very available either. Have any of you had this kind of trouble??? I feel so alone in this. Doctors seem to know nothing about or they are so busy they can't see us. Any suggestions as to an approach to this??? Guest guest
From my experiences with the Immunologists at Sick Kids in Toronto, they are quite familiar with . We are actually going back with our 3 year old son who has been fevering since 8 months of age for genetic testing in December. As mentioned in a previous email, they are not huge proponents of a T & A at this point, but we will see what happens in the future. Our referral was quite easy- the request was made by our Infectous Disease Specialist and we had an appointment within 6 months. Good luck. Guest guest
You need to find a ped. who knows how unpredictable this syndrome is. For the past eight years I have never had a problem getting my son in as soon as I call. But we live in California and the hospital group he works for is very set on patients being see as soon as possible. But my son has the greatest dr. in the world. good luck char ************** Life should be easier. So should your homepage. Try the NEW AOL.com.
