But the school says even if you can only blink your eyes you have to have PE.
Guest guest
I was not diagnosed with CMT until I was 31, but after I was it explained a lot of things about high school. Like in PE I didn't have the cooridination to do a lot of things. I couldn't do pull ups or arm hangs because of the grip in my hands. Running was awful and painful. Everytime we had to run I would twist my ankle and everybody thought it was just an excuse to get out of it and by the end I was even comvinced it was in my head and would push myself to try harder. That only made things worse. I wish people could just understand. Danieta

Maybe if they have a proper program for him it might not be bad to let him take PE E

Guest guest
I have 3 daughters and I have not had them tested but 2 of them show signs of CMT , although not too bad yet. I just hate the thought of them going through what I did in high school. Of course, when I was there my parents or I had never heard of CMT. We just new I was a clumsy kid with turned in feet. I had been to a couple of doctors when I was little about my feet but they all said it was nothing. Then a few years ago my aunt and cousin were diagnosed and it all fell into place. When I feel that my son will not be tormented in P.E I will feel better about him having it. I still see no reason for him to have to dress out. I just don't know how this works with afos? jenny
