Guest guest
Helen, Will it just say -owner or will it include the @? I don't want to dare mess up and open something I shouldn't. Is it safe to say that the "From" won't have -owner in it at all? Sorry for all the questions; I've just been having a time with SPAM and nonsense stuff lately and I have a great virus protection program. I just don't understand some people. Thanks, Christy in NC URGENT ATTENTION ALL from moderator Helen!!! Dear All Group Members, Please do not open an email with this return email address!!! -owner @ , it is not from us, it is spam. Our address is . I have been checking the messages and they are not coming through the group they seem to be mailed directly to us to our individual emails. I hadn't received any of these until today and I received two of them, I instantly noticed that they weren't from our group by the email address, so that might explain why we can't find them in the group listings. If you receive one of these please report it to . We get spam mail daily on the group but it gets stopped before it gets to you. With all this going on, please do not click on any links that are in the emails unless you really know who the person is and you have closely looked at the return address. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing everyone. I have never understood why anyone thinks spamming people or infecting peoples computers is fun to do, it's just idiotic to me. Ling and I will keep watching to help keep our site safe. Moderator Helen One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Mail. Try it now. Guest guest
I just went to Windows Update, because I had heard that a fix would be offered. Even though I had my system set to let me know, it hadn't done so yet. Anyway, the security update is now available for the vulnerability!! I just downloaded and installed it! Still, Microsoft does not plan to issue a fix for the exploit until sometime next year. The attack code originated on Chinese servers and initially only affected IE7, but it emerged that IE5.01, IE6, IE7 and IE8 Beta 2, have also been exploited. I agree why do people enjoy destroying health support groups. SAD World we live in now. Thanks for the heads up to all members. Guest guest
glad for the confirmation! I hadn't received the notification yet, and so went looking! I also often doublecheck to be sure that the yellow shield is 'real'. From: Jo Lynne Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2008 11:21 PM Subject: Re: URGENT ATTENTION ALL from moderator Helen!!!
