Guest guest
Patty I am sorry you are confused. Believe me I have walked in your shoes. I was told in 1985 that I had an auto-immune disease that was attacking my Liver. It turned my liver into cirrhosis and I had a Liver Transplant My 15th 1995. Ask on Group and questions you have? There are children with Liver Diseases and they have never drank. Many of them had not even left the hospital after being born. There are many Liver Diseases but most people do not believe you when you say you do not drink, A few months ago I had in home hospice and I fired them because they treated me as if I was a Drunk. You said blood test done and you tested negative and your Liver is swollen. The Liver will be swollen if it is being attacked by some form of Liver Disease - that has nothing to do with Drinking. A healthy Liver is not swollen - I am not saying this to scare you. There are many drugs that can turn around the cirrhosis and you could live a very long life. Those drugs were not available for me back in 1985. There are many tests to see what kind of Liver Disease you may have or rule out that you have a Liver Disease. I STRESS THAT CIRRHOSIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU OR ANYONE DRINKS. HEPATITIS JUST MEANS INFLAMMATION IN THE LIVER - NOT BECAUSE OF DRINKING IN MANY CASES. Patty I know it is hard to accept that something may or may not be wrong with your Liver. Do not let it concern you until they have a prognosis. Then they can get you on medicine that will slow down or stop the Liver Disease. You need see a hepatologists (Liver Doctor) Primary Care Doctors do not know very much about Liver Diseases - I know more than they do.
