Guest guest
I have read a lot about children with and treatment with surgery and steroids I am wondering has anyone really just out grown this syndrome I keep waiting for the day my son won't get the fevers anymore and I am begining to think it is not going to happen He now has had a fever for 8 days and the doctor has him on antibiotics for a throat infection He has never had inflamed tonsils in the past but is it typical for new symptoms to appear after over 3 years of just fevers? He is also complaining of stomach pain that he sometimes gets with a fever episode but not all the time? I am worried because he already suffers a lot with just the fevers. I would appreciate any imput Thank you Amy (Mom to Riley 4 with since 9 months old)
Guest guest
It is comforting to read posts from people whose children have outgrown PFAFP and/or seem to be on their way to outgrowing this. I hope that more people will send positive e-mails about this! -Leigh My daughter started her fevers at 6 months old and had them high and timely since. She is now 6 years old and seems to have nearly stopped. In the year 2007 she only had 2 episodes and has not had one since early fall. We decided to medicate her only with OTC products and did not opt for the TA. Our Dr suggested we wait until she was 5 and see if any changes occured from there. It has been a very long hard road as all of you with this know. I have heard many who are much older than 5/6 that still have thier episodes. Today she has started with the mouth sores and all the tell-tell signs pre- fever. But I feel overall she is growing out of them. I think when she does get them, they are not near as bad as when she was younger. I think the mouth sores are related somehow. Have read on here where those who are adults who had the fevers no longer have the fevers, but still get the sores. I think(just in my unprofessional opinion) that by reading the experiences from teens and adults who still have this that whatever is causing this still exist in thier body. They just they may outgrow some of the symptoms, but still have some of them and have the potential to come back throughout thier life and some don't show symptoms at all anymore. _________________________________________________________________ Need to know the score, the latest news, or you need your HotmailĀ®-get your " fix " . http://www.msnmobilefix.com/Default.aspx
