Guest guest Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 the problem is that 1/4 of the strokes are "silent", where there are NO symptoms at all and the only way to know if you had one is to have either a CT scan of the brain - but that is only appropriate for recent events- with in the last month or a MRI with contrast for anything older. what the scans look for is scar tissue and areas of brain damage.
