Guest guest
thank you for this site, I often go there for reference too. Marty, I think you asked about valerian but it escaped me..In the file section valerian it's listed, under herbs, I have used valerian in combination with other herbs for inducing sleep, and headaches as you mentioned too. Guest guest
Hi Marty, I have this combination that I have made over the yrs, and it works well, I have put the powdered herbs into caps too, or tea whatever I feel is right for me, and my family: this may help.. this is my sleepy mix: Valerian skullcap Hops Passion flower catnip peppermint rosemary mullein donq quai yes, the sleeping pills that doctors prescribe is just a short term fix, and would be better for the person to take an alternative natural herb, so that the person isnt addicted to the pills, and the long term side effects that go with drugs. There must be something underlying the patients need to sleep, because he/she must be having problems that wont let them sleep, thinking and stress related, nutrition related, there are all sorts of reason, not just one. If I think about money problems before bedtime, I am doomed, I know this, I have to think of nice happy thoughts or think of nothingness, which is the best thoughts of all..empty headed spaceyness, yeah that's the ticket! Like when I was in highschool and looked outside, couldnt wait to get out..he-he...know that feeling? Ok..'nough of this..glad you found the file.. Guest guest
Hi Marty, yes, I had a few teenagers who had alot of problems with falling asleep, especially when one was stimulated by TV, sugar, something on their mind like school, homework related, a conversation with someone that didnt go so well, you know those types, so I used to try to get them to " chill " you know, stop what they were doing, an hr before bedtime, give them my combination of herbs and they would put soothing music on and fall asleep. You sound like a person with a little new born that gets up every 2 hrs for a feeding! Poor thing..I would hate getting up every 2 hrs. Did you always do that? I sleep by 10:30 or even by 9:30 is better and sleep till 3am to relieve myself, and then go back to sleep till 6am..After being a mom for 26 yrs and a grandma for 4 yrs, I treasure the experience of sleeping 6 hrs straight, nothing like a good night sleep. You shouldnt have any kind of stimulant activity like TV, telephone conversations, computer work, if I cant sleep b/s the brain is working on over time, I read something soothing, this helps alot, makes me crossed eyed and I'm off the bed! Well I hope you find what works for you, Marty.. Take it easy as always, Michele --- Marty Cline <stompingelk@...> wrote: > Michele, > you just gave me a thought,I will pay attention to > my > thoughts and feelings before sleepy time and see > what > happens.I do not have a sleeping problem, somebody on > another group did-does!!. > I do have a problem///I wake up every 2 hours, but go > right back to sleep. > I need to watch how I am thinking, and eating, before > I > go to bed and see what matches...I have done this > for > other things in my life and it has helped solve some > problems.. > Thank You. > Marty > --- michele horton <epifany97523@...> wrote: > > > Hi Marty, > > > > I have this combination that I have made over the > > yrs, > > and it works well, I have put the powdered herbs > > into > > caps too, or tea whatever I feel is right for me, > > and > > my family: this may help.. > > > > this is my sleepy mix: > > > > Valerian > > skullcap > > Hops > > Passion flower > > catnip > > peppermint > > rosemary > > mullein > > donq quai > > > > yes, the sleeping pills that doctors prescribe is > > just > > a short term fix, and would be better for the > person > > to take an alternative natural herb, so that the > > person isnt addicted to the pills, and the long > term > > side effects that go with drugs. > > > > There must be something underlying the patients > need > > to sleep, because he/she must be having problems > > that > > wont let them sleep, thinking and stress related, > > nutrition related, there are all sorts of reason, > > not > > just one. > > > > If I think about money problems before bedtime, I > am > > doomed, I know this, I have to think of nice happy > > thoughts or think of nothingness, which is the > best > > thoughts of all..empty headed spaceyness, yeah > > that's > > the ticket!
