Guest guest
Hi Mandy so sorry this appointment has you so frightened! USUALLY folks are wanting NOT to be diagnosed, so this will sure surprise your new doc. I would start out the appointment by letting him/her know that you have had a VERY hard time so far, with very difficult symptoms, and that you really need major help as soon as possible, today if possible. You might add that you have heard from people with Multiple Sclerosis that there is medicine that might help you soon feel a whole lot better, and that you hope he/she might want to try it for you. Some neurologists are using the meds right away when there is a suspicion of MS. at least that is what I would do. and for now, since there's not much you can do, try taking some deep breaths and 'letting go'; tomorrow will be another day -- even if easier said than done (smile) Jean From: Mandy Sent: Sunday, November 30, 2008 6:45 AM Hiya everyone I've got an appointment with a Neurologist on Tuesday at 10am and I'm getting really nervous now! So nervous that I'm shaking!! Other than giving him my list of symptoms what else do I say to him to get him to diagnose me with MS please? What do I do if he says there is nothing wrong with me? Sorry! Mandy

Guest guest
Hi, Mandy I really hope that they can get it right this time. When you take your list in, put everything down to the smallest detail and rate how bad your symptoms are compared to your worst days. It might be a good thing that you are not on meds for it because that way the doc can see more for himself. Sorry! Mandy

Guest guest
very good points!! Jean From: LMay Sent: Sunday, November 30, 2008 1:19 PM Subject: Re: Getting nervous now! Hi, Mandy I really hope that they can get it right this time. When you take your list in, put everything down to the smallest detail and rate how bad your symptoms are compared to your worst days. It might be a good thing that you are not on meds for it because that way the doc can see more for himself.
