Guest guest
High aldo with somewhat high renin could be secondary hyperaldosteronism. Most on here have been told it is your head. Do you have lab numbers if so we need to see them if you want us to help. > > I have visited with 2 more doctors(Endo and Urologist) who just don't seem to get that I am sick. Both are trying to convince me that everything I am going through is in my head. Can't help but get a little defensive when they start bringing up anti-anxiety meds. I don't know if I can emotionally take another doctor dismissing my problems; therefore, I am just done. I am going to try and heal myself with diet, exercise(I'll die trying), positive thinking, and keeping my mind occupied on other things than how terrible I feel. > > My last MRI done in Sept 2011, showed no adrenal masses. My aldosterone is elevated 10 points and my renin is at the high end of normal. I have had blood in my urine 4 times since Sept and my left side under ribcage at breast level is very painful(hurts to lean back, raise my left arm, take deep breaths, or eat). I also have terrible random spells of extremely high BP, trembling, low potassium, rapid heart rate and near fainting. I am weak most of the time and have terrible night sweats. I have had a bloody nose everyday for a year, bruise easily, have elevated hemoglobin and hemocrit levels, and shortness of breath upon exertion. No one cares..... So I give up.... I will treat myself.... I have not been diagnosed with anything other than anxiety, occasional high BP, and low K and D and elevated aldosterone. > > Advice is welcomed > > T >

Guest guest
Buy your own spiro and try it, working up slowly. See what it does for your BP. Keep a daily BP log. DASH. If spiro and DASH don't help, then it is likely not PA; it is something else. I had several ER visits for extremely high BP, trembling, low potassium, rapid (and irregular) heart rate and near fainting. Spiro fixed my BP but the other symptoms were Lyme disease. " Terrible night sweats " and " shortness of breath " are common with Babesia, a Lyme co-infection, although you need to rule everything else out. How does being anxious make blood in your urine? My Lyme was diagnosed via Lyme antigens in urine. They tried to tell me that being crazy (anxious) destroyed the cartilage in my knee. /sarcasm Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of terri I have visited with 2 more doctors(Endo and Urologist) who just don't seem to get that I am sick. Guest guest
Terry,This is the worst thing that you can do!!!! Nobody will save you with this attitude! We fight for so many things in our life, that completely not worth fighting. And the main thing that is worth is your life and health! Keep changing doctors until you find one, who is going to listen to you or at least will be ready to prescribe you spiro or eplerenone. Try it. If you cannot do it by yourself, try to find a friend, an advocate, a social worker, who will help you. Try to go for a several days on rice/fruit diet and test how do you feel. After that, go on Dash, restrict yourself tremendously in food and test again. No sodium for several days, and see again.I changed more than 10 doctors, was 4 times in a hospital and numerous time in ER, and I am still not diagnosed. Send fee to Dr. Grim, and asked him as many questions as you have to, ask our group about specialists in your area. Try to analyze your condition. It's probably full-time job, but nobody can do it except you. When I started about a year ago, I could spent at the computer no more than 30 minutes a day in my nightgown, I could not brush my teeth, I could not take a shower. Natalia Kamneva 67 Russian F with 2 cm left adrenal adenoma, still not diagnosed with PA; diabetic; on 100 mg eplerenone, 80 mg Micardis, 2000 mg metformin, 60 mg Dexilant and 2 mg Lorazepam; Dashing; still have some occasional problems with BP, K and Na; on private consultation with Dr Grim.
