I just turned 50 and have no health issues other that 28 years of uncontrollable high bp. I was treated for conns with no tests when i insisted on test i had to find a diff doctor.I am from Tenn, thats between Memphis and Nashville. Liddles, as i am told is in about 50% of a persons family. So far I cant tell which side, my fathers side has 4 that died with uncontrolled bp and my mothers side has 3 and one 9 year old girl on second kidney transplant with no reason for failing kidneys. They are checking her for Liddles. This explaines why spiro only worked on me for a few weeks. The internet says there are about 30 of us worldwide, I find this hard to be true but there is no info. > > ________________________________ > From: " dangates04@... Guest guest
Hi Dan,> This explaines why spiro only worked on me for a few weeks. What happened after few weeks? BP? What kind of tests did they do for Liddles? What kind of medicines are you on now? What is BP now? Try to create your signature similar to mine below, then Dr. Grim will recognize you among 699 patients here. Although you are very recognizable, nobody here is diagnosed with Liddle's yet, as far as I remember :-)Do you Dash? I recall that it's is very important for Liddlle's as much as for Conn's. Do you have salt craving? What other symptoms do you have besides BP? Good luck and best regards, Natalia Kamneva 67 Russian F with 2 cm left adrenal adenoma, still not diagnosed with PA; diabetic; on 100 mg eplerenone, 80 mg Micardis, 2000 mg metformin, 60 mg Dexilant and 2 mg Lorazepam; Dashing; still have some occasional problems with BP, K and Na; on private consultation with Dr Grim. Guest guest
WelcomeCan you give us your renin and aldosterone numbers that led to the diagnosis. They are markedly different from PA. Congrats to your team for making the Dx. All of your blood relatives should be tested. At least with a renin and aldosterone. There are genetic tests as well-Vanderbilt would be the first place I would go as that was where Liddle was. I had the honor of knowing him. DASHing will help your problem remarkably. As the genetic alteration in Liddle's is an increase in ENaC channnels in the kidney. No salt no hypertension. And no K problems. Key is to find the least amt of salt you can eat and still feel well. Guest guest
What do you want to know? I know quite a bit about it.Put your questions here and we should be able to help. I would go to Pubmed and enter Liddle's syndrome.''You will get over 1000 references I suspect.
