Guest guest
While not all in group have been DX with PA. From the way this group is growing it looks like PA isn't so rare. Now if there 700 Dr that knew that was more common wounder how many would be in this group.
Guest guest
I also think it is indicative of the system as a whole. The art of diagnosis is gone and has been fading for some time. We are living in the "fast food" of medicine era - move many; move 'em fast; send them to someone else when the pressure's on; don't serve them if they are time consuming and energy consuming; and so on....... I often think so many are ordering tests without some understanding of why they are ordering them and some docs and others understand just ORDERING tests boosts their EVU's and up's their quarterly medicare and medicaid bonuses. Pain management docs know that putting the steroid in the back, instead of prescribing, just upped their pay from $50 to $500 if they bill right. Others work for systems where it is VERY common to get bonuses based on number of patients seen so if one thinks the profession is above the fray and will not have that in the back of their mind as they move them through they are mistaken. The focus is on $ and the pride is not there. It's a broken system. It's broken from both sides too but that's another day and more story as we as consumers also want more for less from our end. Not just blaming anyone because it's broken from the top down. But this is likely why to more and more are seeking their own answers on lists like this. Guest guest
VA Dr aren't suppose to play this game. They have no money to gain. Of course the VA is on a budget so this may limit care. > > > From: Francis Bill SUSPECTED PA <georgewbill@...> > Subject: 700+ members > hyperaldosteronism > Date: Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 8:33 AM > > > > Â > > > > While not all in group have been DX with PA.
