Guest guest
Thank You. I was dx April 1985 & Transplanted on May 15th 1995. I was number 1 on the list in Dec 1995 but I kept getting UTI's and they cannot transplant you until you have no infections - my gastro at Baylor wrote a scrip for Cipro and it did not say take until done to prevent infection coming back even if you feel better - His scrip read Take Until Transplanted. Friday May 12th I went to the Urologist and he inserted a cath to get a clean (sorry Brain Fog) hope you can know what I mean. It was clear & he said I will fax to your transplant Docs & I said NO - copy the report and I am going to take it to transplant Docs now and that was 4:30pm on a Friday. Which I did and I got my beeper back. I was #1 on the transplant list again. My mother kept saying that she would love for me to be told on Mother's Day we have you a donor. She got her wish. I am a very Strong Christian and I truly believe that GOD knew who my Donor was before I was even a thought. I could have been transplanted in Dec while I was there but they said why don't you go home and have Christmas and come back after New Year - They said you do not want to be in ICU over the holidays. On my flight back to Dallas I had a mask on and I was an Airline Employee and flew space available. They only had one seat left in 1st Class more comfortable so I sat in it and my Mother was in the first row behind First Class. She told the man sitting next to me I was going to Dallas to get a Liver Transplant. Every time I opened my eyes he was looking at me to see if I was still breathing. When they took me into the Operating Room I was not sedated or no brave pills and I was introduced to the whole crew. They started putting me under and I said wait. I need to say a prayer. "GOD this is a win win situation I will either wake up at Baylor or Heaven and either way is okay with me. GOD please let me wake up soon if I am still at Baylor so that You (GOD) or I are in Control.". I woke up and was alert in the operating room & the Doc went to my family and friends and told them I was awake and alert and that they could see me in ICU in 30 minutes. GOD is the one that is always in control. They came in 30 minutes later and the breathing tube was still in (only for 1 1/2 hrs so I moved my hands to let them know I wanted to write a note.) Your hands are tied down so you do not pull out anything. She untied my right hand and I wrote the note and they could read it. As for my Photo July 2004 - 35th Reunion. I attended the 30th Reunion and one of my best friends left her hospital bed and came to the Reunion. She had Cancer and was getting chemo and she looked sick. She died a few weeks later. I asked GOD to make me look not sick because that was not how I wanted them to remember me. That is the only way I looked not to sick. I slept/rested a lot prior to Reunion. What a Awesome GOD we have. I am very very tired hope this makes sense. Thanks again for allowing me to vent.
