Guest guest
Hi I have been doing some more investigation into Rose Geranium oils. As far as what goes as Rose Geranium there are indeed a lot of varieties and hybrids out there. According to my distiller friend it is not so much the variety of Rose Geranium that matters, but the area in which it is cultivated. Apparently if you get Geranium oil from Summer rainfall areas and areas with high rainfall, you will get an oil that appears to be " watered down " , whereas the oils from Winter rainfall areas and almost semi-dessert areas, they are much more intense in scent. They have a high yield of oil in the other areas (oil almost dripping off the plant) but the quality is inferior. The other factor that is important is the PH of the soil. They require a very high PH almost 9! So if you want to check quality of Rose Geranium oil, check which area it comes from. Sophia

Sophia Sophia this is so timely and I besides profusely thanking you cannot help but wonder how many other perfume plants have these issues.
