Oops - Let's try again:

11/23/11 - 24 hour Urine:

creatinine - 923 (800-1800) mg/24 hr

potassium - 116 (25-125) mg/24 hr

sodium - 88 (40-220) mg/24 hr

Random Urine:

creatinine - 21.1 mg

potassium - 26.4 mg

sodium - 20 mmol/l

11/18/11 - Basic Metabolic Panel:

creatinine - 0.7 (0.8-1.7) mg/dl

potassium - 4.8 (3.3-5.1) mmol/l

sodium - 134 (137-147) mmol/l

My nephro said that I should aim for less than 80 mmol (2 grams?) of sodium, so the 88mmol is not too bad.  However, would 88 mmol = 2200 mg  and be quite a bit over 1500 mg?  And, therefore, I would I want to aim for less than 1500 mg or 60 mmol?  Is my conversion correct?

Dr. Grim - Thanks for your repetition and patience. I think my denial makes me a slow learner.

Dr. Grim,

Earlier you had requested the results of my 24 hour urine from November. They

follow from earlier post. Is my math/interpretation correct about aiming for

less than 60 mmol of sodium in my next 24 hour urine?

Also, if a packaged food has almost as much K as Na, does that make any

difference in sodium impact on your body?

Thanks,

Lucy
