Take notes on how they take BP. I attach our technique check list we use when we are observing those who have gone thru our training course. We have also used this to grade physicians, cardiologists, cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents, medical and nursing students (pre and post graduate), nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, BP assistants in clinics that have done BP research studies for years, Red Cross Blood Donation Assistants, people taking BP on TV or an booths at the America Heart Association. Almost no one passes who has not been trained by Shared Care. To pass all steps (and this part of the documentation that proper technique has been mastered) all must be done in order and completed.
