Guest guest
my son just turned 6. He is reading 3.4 or better in reading and comprehension. He knows math and is an avid science " how things work " geek. He was a retarded, unabled to understand his own name type of kid, with multiple medical problems. Diagnosed with Regressive Autism. Developmental delay. Severe sensory problems. Ataxia. Dysphagia. MS symptoms. Seizures. Unexplained rashes / High fevers. Unable to speak. Severe gastro and immune problems. I offered therapy at home 24/7. Exemplary nutrition. A desperate need to help him. My son may on occasion bump into something, or still have hearing sensitivities, or unable to accept certain food textures, but he is in a regular classroom OUT-SHINNING the rest of the first graders. Can the children recover ??? the answer is yes, trust your instinct. Not everyone has your childs best interest in mind. THAT IS A FACT. Guest guest
Autism Recovery group did play a role in some of the resource material I used in determining the best course of action. I want to give this group of professionals credit for their indirect contribution to my son's recovery. Also to the author of the book that open countless eyes to the system that failed our children and it's citizens.
Guest guest
Does this mean Marty doesn't want to talk to us anymore? We can't help it if we watch our kids improve with biomedical treatments and conclude that we've identified the problem correctly. Bob probably learned from some of us how to help his grandson. It would be nice though, Marty if Bob shared that knowledge. Check under " Treatments " on the AS website and it doesn't even mention chelation or methyl B-12, not even under alternative therapies. HBOT isn't mentioned either. We don't have all the answers, Marty. We have some though. The treatments Bob won't mention are the only things that are actually curing autism. Wouldn't it be nice if some wealthy, charitable organization spent some money to perfect these treatments so that they were more effective and more widely available to ALL autistic children? As it is Marty, the well educated and dedicated parents who you find on this list are less than 1% of autism parents. We're the ones who AS can't fool with their hand in the media blackout against the truth. What about the other 99% who won't learn how to help their kids? I used one of AS's approved therapies called Floortime. I didn't pay for it though, or even have a name for it. I still get down on the floor and play with my kid, try to engage him in any possible way and build on it. That ain't no way to cure mercury poisoning, Marty. It doesn't help a kid who can't pay attention to anything. This is not a therapy of any sort. It's just basic decent parenting. I think I helped my son swing a golf club with my hands over his at least 5,000 times. I did it every day from the time he could stand up until he was nine years old before he ever swung the club himself. He usually tried to eat the club when I handed it to him to swing himself. AS would say that was how one of their approved therapies worked. I say it was the chelation and that I could have swung that club 500,000 times with him and he never would have done it himself if I hadn't got some of the mercury out of his brain. Now he picks up the club himself and hits golf balls without being prompted just because it's fun. I think Bob should put that story under " Treatments " to show that kids with severe autism CAN improve. What do you think, Marty? > > > > But Marty, they've had two years+ and $60,000,000 and countless TV > > time to show even an inkling of entertaining the biomedical > > approach. Guest guest
Kim, I am fine continuing any discussion and will be honest about how I feel as well as the past as long as we keep to a productibe discussion. I have no problerm with anyone expressing any view on autism or treatments but I trust you know I do not see any individual with an ASD as a lost cause or without hope. Guest guest
Thank you Debi as your summary is accurate. I have made it clear many times in the past I did not agree with NAAR on many issues and expressed my views accordingly. As to DAN and biomed irrespective of whether or not I use it for my son should not be taken as an indication that I am against it. Quite to the contrary I welcome research and further discussion of those topics. I think what he said was that it (biomed) didn't work for his child (unfortunately doesn't work for every child), but that he knows many it (biomed) has worked for, and that he thinks both genetic research and biomed have a place, and even asked for anyone who had a proposal to submit it & he'd try to see it go to the "right" person at AS. Seems to me like all worthy comments. Sounds to me like Marty is a reasonable person, I don't understand why he's getting blasted. Guest guest
Jeff, Very well said! I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's a waste of time and energy to most of us to be mad at Bob . Let's hate autism and what it has done to our kids - Bob did not do this to my kids. I'm sure Bob is grieving just like all the rest of us. He may not be spending the AS money the way that we would want him to, but we can speak with our pocketbooks and donate to another autism charity we agree with more. But to have hatred or this much anger at Bob - not me. And, it seems like every few weeks people pile on Marty, which I think is a complete waste of time. He seems like a very decent, thoughtful, up-front person, and I'm really tired of all the nasty comments thrown his way. How many times are we going to go through this cycle? How is that productive? In addition to, "can't we all get along," how about, "don't we have better things to do?" JMHO. Guest guest
" The ONLY genetic componant is the genetically modified vaccines with toxins. " I would argue the validity of that statement. Genetics plays a role in autism. Of course it is certainaly not the only factor nor do I suggest it is the cause but it is part of the overall picture. Guest guest
Marty I am the dad of a clinically proven mercury poisoned 17 year old boy. That has more than three times the normal level of testosterone. As that of a normal child the same age. And a bowel disorder from hell. He is currently on a lupron protocol agreed upon by both the Geiers and his GP. All the Geiers are making for their services to my son. Is a whopping charge/cost of $0-zilch-0$... Their only vested interest; is the expert help they are providing. And the love and care they have for children. So much for other people from CDC, FDA, AAP, and the industry. Whom insist that the Geiers are in it for the money. I would really like to see the other side show such compassion. But I happened to know they are greedy even to their own, who have children like ours. One such case; involves someone I thought was a friend. He said; Joe, it's like they told me "Adios M -F'er!" your on your own. This was one high up scientist. Who took his child to a very well known hospital. They called him after he had returned home with his very severely autistic child. And told him his insurance was not good enough. Amazing; how greedy they have gotten. After all; they poisoned the children. According to Bob s daughter. All of the genetics specialist and hospitals that they sought help from. Did not even have a clue. Eventually she sought help from a so called "Junk Scientist" "AKA: Dr. Krigsman" to get real help. Funny who helps and who hurts our children, all for the greater good. It is my finding; that you could not get from all the scientist on the other side of the autism treatment debate. One drop of the integrity that is in one single scientist that is on our side "the side of the children" of the issue. Before my son was put on the lupron. He had gotten so out of control. My wife and I were considering placing him in a home. He would go into sudden rages. Hitting, scratching, pinching, screaming, crying. He would throw things. Break anything he could; including doors, windows, walls. He would literally throw his body into a wall in order to bust through the sheet-rock. He would also purposely injure himself. Has had many stitches and multiple broken bones. All at his own doing. How can genetic research help our children with high levels of testosterone. And those clinically proven to have mercury poisoning. It seems to me; they would be looking into the cause of why these children are loaded with high levels of testosterone. It is impossible; that these children having high levels of mercury. Would not exhibit signs of mercury "poisoning" toxicity. Mercury toxicity symptoms are very similar; if not identical to symptoms of Autism. In other word; - THEY ARE ONE IN THE SAME !!!We should be working to remove mercury out of their systems. By finding the very best chelating methods. Chelation is the only way to remove mercury. And also; looking into how elevated levels of testoterone plays a roll in autism. We do not see any research from AS; that involves the removal of mercury. Which has already been proven to help autistic symptoms. Looking for an invisible autism gene or genetic marker; does absolutely nothing. It does nothing to improve the quality of life for these children. Nor' are they looking into the reason why these children are loaded with testosterone. Causing some to be extremely agressive. Genetics plays a role inautism. Of course it is certainaly not the only factor nor do Isuggest it is the cause but it is part of the overall picture.Marty> >> > Marty:> >> > You are by far the most reasonable and moderate voice I have ever> > encountered from NAAR and you don't believe your child was vaccine> > damaged and you don't follow the DAN! protocol.> >> > And, that right there is the problem with Autism Speaks. Guest guest
Joe I hear what you are saying and appreciate your comments. I have spoken to and am aware of her issues. She has been very articulate in explaining to me what she believes. It is OK for us to disagree on some points. I do not see all cases of autism as mercury poisoning and in my mind genetic susceptibility may play a role in any event. That is why I advocate for some genetic research in addition to other types of research that may lead to some of the answers we both seek. As I have said before, genetic research should not be done to the exclusion of other research.
