I know you probably were slammed by TS Hanna and I just wanted to

check on you. Being down in Florida we know what's like to be flooded

and " tossed " about with those winds and rains and of course, the

discomfort and pain from the joints.

Please let me know how you're doing; I've been rather concerned about

you and all our East Coast family.

Take care and be well.

Liz,

Congratulations! The good news is that unless you have complications

in pregnancy, you can pretty much do most everything you were used to

doing. You just have to modify ab work and watch that your heart

rate doesn’t go as high into your THR zone. Also, be careful

stretching as the ligaments get a lot more lax during pregnancy (the hormones

that allow your abdominals to stretch out to allow for the baby don’t

work on just the abs). As you progress into the 3rd trimester,

you may have more problems with balance and have to limit a few other things, but

generally, you can do whatever workouts you want with modifications. I

actually knew an instructor once who literally taught cardio kickboxing the

morning she delivered her son. Being in shape actually helps with

delivery.
