Guest guest
Hi Vickie, It is nice to see somebody is here to talk to this morning. Yes I can sympathize with you about gas prices, mine was $4.25 for regular down here at the local gas station yesterday. I usually put in about $40 for a half tank, and had to put in $50. We were talking about gas prices this morning, they are high due to supply and demand, just as I had suspected. It is because India and China are now getting more cars and are needing more of the oil. Also the costs to refine it into gasoline have gone up. We have plenty of crude oil here in the U.S. but the environmentalist won't allow us to drill for it. It's a shame, but they have made tough laws against it. Just my little economics lesson, just read an article on it from another list, also saw a guy on TV this morning who said it is going to start coming down now, just by pennies, as gas prices tend to shoot up like a rocket and fall down like a feather, but it will come he said. It is all economics, supply and demand, been working that way for a long time. As to my own life, I am bored silly here, it is rainy and a little on the cold side and so I cannot go out and work in the yard like I had planned, well I could I guess, but it would be really muddy. One of my little grandkids got out of school last week so our usual Tue. and Thur. routine is over, used to take him, pick him up, then we would go to Goodwill to look around, our little outings to get to know one another. The other two in elementary school get out on the 12th. My granddaughter who is 11 and going into middle school will have a graduation ceremony next Wed. I also have a grandson in 2nd grade. They about drive me crazy wanting to do things with me, it is the pattern we have set up as I used to care for them every day since they were born up until last year when my daughter quit work so she doesn't bring them every morning anymore. In a way I kind of miss the demanding routine, but also in a way it was too much for me and I needed a break. It is just hard for me to know what to do with myself. My son Marty is 43 years old now and we have our usual routine with him everyday, he has to be watched 24/7, I should be very thankful he is not in a crisis right now, and of course I am, just so used to all those crises over the years I guess. I am like a fireman with no fire to go to I guess, miss the adrenalin rush. This is stupid though and I must fight it!!! My grandkids are getting kind of out of order I have noticed lately,so maybe getting them under control is a new direction to go in. Like yesterday was my daughter's birthday, she was 38 years old, my baby girl. They come over every day after school anyway, and are always quite rambunctious but yesterday even worse. The 11 year old kept saying she was huuuuuungry, she was huuuuuuungry, must have said it a hundred times. We had birthday cake ready to eat and they wanted it, did not want to wait till we got pizza as we had planned to. I couldn't believe it how much they begged and whined, just would not stop it. Their mother constantly nags at them to be quiet, don't know what is worse, listening to them, or to her. It has become and every day occurrence. So yesterday after we had had the pizza, and the cake and ice cream, and were trying to relax a bit, they were whining to go home now. So I got my switch out, and announced there were going to be some NEW rules for when they came to my house. They would get two verbal commands on any given order, and if they did not comply after that they would get a switch on their bottom. It is called training, my daughter only talks, she doesn't know how to train. When they were with me they did what I told them, because if they did not there was a consequence. I did not have to do much talking then, not like their mom does now, she gives commands constantly, yet not one child is obeying her. Well I held the stick, and the 7 year old boy challenged me a bit, but he knew I meant business so I did not have to whack him, it worked wonderfully him just seeing I had the switch. The11 year old girl challenged me a couple of times, then got the giggles and ran outside to get away from me. I told her it was all fun and games right now, but she had better get things together because I would whack her,and I know she knows it too. I am expecting some changed behavior today. Carolyn test Hi all, this is a test. I have not received any mail from this group, and suspect I have been unsubbed. Is this true? Guest guest
I read your post, and instantly had this picture in my mind of you helping to successfully treat a patient because you had your beautifully prepared medical PECS cards with you. Then the other nurse and doctor working with you said " That was great. Where did you get those? Guest guest
danielle it was of hard for me because the baby was of 2 hours north of us and we had no reliable transportation to go to see of her while she was of in NICU and then the birth family of me none was willing to care for the other kids so I could be of there to the ronald mcdonald house to be of near her none was willing to help of me in the time of need and the fact is of the birth mother told me right after delivery she and the step father were of going to vacation but if the baby dies to call them and they would come home... sick family were to me and still are of to me.... they had no concern for my need of help or for their dying grandbaby. so she was of in there by her self for a few days before I to finally got of a ride to see of her but then did not get of to see her again until she was of 12 days old. I to still get of tears and anger to this event of my life. the birth family can hurt of me and that is of okay got use to that but to do this to a innocent grandbaby to let ofher suffer without her mommmy or daddy and all alone is to me unforgivable. Missy began sizures at age of 10 days old. it showed on the eeg that she had temporal lobe spikes and was seen several times staring out in an odd fashions. I to geuss they were of called partial or absent siezures? she outgrew of them by the time she was in 3 or 4 grade. it was of the first time her EGG came back normal. but she still gets of a headache around strobe like lights so we watch that for her.
