Guest guest
d Were you going to Tishomingo or Ada to the Indian Clinic? I was just wondering what part of OK. I'm glad you're getting away from the Indian Clinic - I have no faith in them. Good luck. SuSie -- Update Hey hope everyone is well. I have been doing some thinking. So I guess I wanted to use you all as a sounding board for my plans. As most of you may know I dont have any insurance. That tends to make it a lil bit diffucult to find a Dr that wants to give his services away free of charge. Cant even say I blame them. I was sopposed to go see my dr tomorrow for my every three month check up. My dr is at an Indian clinic in okla. Because I live in Texas there are a lot of things they dont do. So I am changing Drs. I spoke to the University of Tex at Tyler, they have programs that will allow me to be seen. I am having alot more problems and there is nothing my current dr can really do until he runs some tests. The tests happen to be in the group of things they cant do do unless Im an Okla resident. I am not very fond of the limbo game..lol. At least not when my health is involved. Well I guess that is the general idea of my plans. Im tired of being sick. As Im sure many of you can understand. love hugs and prayers d

Guest guest
Susie I started out going to Talahina Clinic. My dr there is the one that fired me as his patient when I reschedualed an appt to attend a funeral.. I was 3 months into 52 weeks of tx. And I WAS RESPONDING. So I had to find a new dr. In Talahina is where the Chotaw Nation has their hep specialist.. So I ended up going to Cherokee Nation. My family lives in North East Oklahoma in cherokee nation. I ended up seeing adr in Salina okla. The first dr I had didnt fax in the rx for my treatment.. So my coverage period expired. I was on tx at the time. Another tx interuption. Then I got this dr.. He could learn ALOT just reading here. I was his first hep patient. I dont know yet if I will be able to see anyone at Tyler but Im tryin. Because the kids that live with us are not our biological children they didnt put them on the application for financial screening. If not oh well. then I will move to the next plan. Dallas is 80 miles away. De thanks I guess I just wanted someone to say good idea. Im still so foggy I dont trust my judgement. Guest guest
Thank's for asking. I'm doing mostly alright. Finally got my deductible taken care of and now can't get an appointment until Jan and March. Deductible will be due again. Sometime's a person just can't win for losing. But, at least I have insurance - not the greatest, but it help's. By the way, who did win that last year on the dead husband's and boyfriend's? Guest guest
Ursula, I am sorry to hear of your health issues. I have to say it is really strange...not even a half hour ago I thought...where is Ursula??? ...she hasn't posted in a while and was wondering if everything was okay. Strange how that happens sometimes. I hope your surgery goes well and wish you a quick recovery!!! Best of luck! Guest guest
Ursula, Good luck with the health issues. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope the procedure goes well and you can avoid the more difficult surgery. update I apologize for not being the welcoming moderator that I should be. I will be less involved the rest of the year due to some health concerns. A month ago I was diagnosed with a kidney problem that I was told was congenital but tended to become aggravated with stones. When stones were found one was rather large and obstructing the left kidney. A cystoscope failed and so lithotripsy was scheduled. The litho was successful and a stent was placed to help the fragments pass. It was to be removed in a couple of days past postop as an outpatient. A day after the litho I was at home when I spike a fever, started to have a migraine and became dehydrated due to not being able to stand from the migraine (and too pigheaded to ask for help from hubby). I thought the fever would subside but 12 hrs later it hadn't so I called the Urologist and was told to go to the ER. 3 liters of fluid later I still had the migraine but finally could be cathed for labs and blood was drawn and my first IV of the visit placed. Admitted to surgical floor and started on 2 IV abx and fluids. A day later I was still spiking and unable again to go potty so another straight cath was done. IV #1 blew and after 7 attempts by 3 different nurses the urologist came in and placed an IV in my right foot. Right kidney was deemed in failure and a catheter was placed and new meds were ordered. THankfully a PCA of Demerol was among them. That night the foot IV looked iffy so the surgeon was paged and I was taken to the surgical ICU for sedation and a subclavian central line. After starting Gentamycin my fevers subsided and I stayed 4 more days and finally was able to lose my foley and started going on my own. Follow up with the urologist this week was good, stent was removed and another follow up scheduled for right before thanksgiving. He'll either send me to Atlanta (Emory) for a special procedure to correct the kidney or try a more radical surgery here. (I vote for the Emory trial first). My strength seems to be the worst at returning but he says that's mostly from the fevers. The kidney twinges now and then but nothing awful. Welcome to all the new members and please keep writing in. I've seen the roll call and look forward to reading through it. Ursula
