But I use a wheat sprout supplement for my dog with a ruptured disc (for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but it's great at ridding the body of radiation too), called AOX/PLX. The manufacturer told me it's gluten-free and he explained that the way they harvest it, there is no seed (no seed=no gluten). I don't know if that goes for all wheat sprouts though. I'm taking AOX/PLX myself and I'm 100% gluten-free (assuming the manufacturer is correct that his harvesting process makes it gluten-free). Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. I know I have problem with " barley grass juice " that was in a supplement I was taking, but it's not something I particularly believe in either (I do eat plenty of greens, but grass isn't something that humans usually eat). You have to figure that the folks growing it have plenty of wheat seeds floating around their facility, which means wheat seed dust around. Then it depends on how they cut it, how well they wash it after they cut it, where they package it, etc. which gets all too complicated. I still don't see why wheat sprouts are any better than any other grass sprout though. At my local farmer's store, they sell pea sprouts, which taste quite nice. I tend to think they started with wheat just because it's easy to get. -- Heidi Jean
Guest guest
Thanks, Helen. The other instructions are too involved for me, to be honest, although I do appreciate you posting them. I think I'll try the shortcut method. It probably won't come out as good, but hopefully it will kind of work.helen/zhebee <zhebee@...> wrote: Hi , I just sent the instructions for growing wheatgrass. , in answer to your question about sprouting wheat, you can do it the same as you would sprout the alfalfa sprouts, the instructions for which I am sending in a separate email. I cannot remember doing it. I must have because it was a time in my life when I tried everything. You might have to rinse the seeds a bit more often. Just experiment. You will find what works best for you. If I remember right, when the wheat began to sprout, it was sort of like chewing on chewing gum. If you do this let me know how it worked for you.
