Guest guest
Hi Tamra: I am exactly on your drug cocktail, plus I also take Neoral, which is a form of cyclosporine. I also don't take any anti-inflammatories because of a past history of ulcerative colitis. My RA has been pretty drug resistant up til now - I have good days, bad days, better days and worse days. There doesn't seem to be any real improvement because of the drugs. In fact, my doctor is considering taking me off this particular cocktail and putting me on Remicade. In that case, I think I would only take some methotrexate. Right now I am on the max you can take of these 4 drugs, and still the RA hasn't been forced into remission. I am, however, starting to take some supplements recommended to me by a naturopath I went to see - and I am feeling somewhat better. But it's hard to determine why I might be feeling better these days. Lots or people find that the weather does affect their RA, usually for the worse. Living in southern California, that's not so much an issue with me. By the way, I have really not suffered any side effects as a result of this drug mixture. I hope you are as lucky and that this affords you some relief. Good luck and let me know how you're doing. gloria
Guest guest
Hi Tamra....my name is Sherri. I was diagnosed with RA last year while recouperating from knee replacement surgery...I am 35. I am on Mtx and Prednisone. I have been on MTX for like 6 wks now. Prior to beginning the Mtx, I was on just the Pred., and up to 25-30mg/day. Ibelieve that the Mtx has helped some, as I am now daom to 15mg./day and 15mg. MTX/week. I am now on Bextra......not sure how that is working.....I may need to increase the dose....need to call the Md. I live just north of Pittsburgh, Pa, and I, too, notice a difference with the weather....sherri Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone is on the above three together? I cannot take anything like Celebrex due to aspirin alergy and gi issues. I'm going to start on Methotrexate on Oct 20th (after my sister's wedding) and I am also wondering if there is basically good response to it. Also, I live in Wisconsin, is RA affected by the cold weather? Tamra Sero-Negative Rheumatoid
Guest guest
Tamra, I'm taking the same medications that mentioned, plus Ansaid, Darvocet & Folic Acid. I've been on Methotrexate for almost a year & I swear by it! When my doctor added the Methotrexate to my medications, I got almost instant relief. It has given me my life back. Be sure you take Folic Acid while on Methotrexate. I have good days & bad days, but that's normal. You know, I had an allergic reaction to Celebrex. I had a rash all over. I'm figuring that I'm allergic to Sulfa drugs. My doctor said that was possible. I'm not allergic to aspirin, though. Let me know how you are doing on your medication.
