Guest guest
Welcome Dan You will find out that 85% of this group are Vet's as you Americans say and we all know the score on not have the right or enough equipment. Tony M (Ski) Howdy Ya'll Well - guess I'll post a bit about myself as a brand new member. My Name is Dan. I am an American Special Forces medic (green beret to you civilians) on an operational detachment alpha (A-Team) stationed with 1st Special Forces Group in Okinawa Japan. I've been involved in medicine since 1997. My interest in remote medicine stems from the fact that the Army seems to keep sending me out into the middle of nowhere and letting me play doctor, dentist and veterinarian (and occasionally dive medic). The Army also has this bad habit of never giving me enough supplies so I am always looking for new tips, tricks and ideas to help me out - I never feel like I know enough Couple of questions - in your picture section, what types of pictures are you looking for? Can a description and or relating story be attached? Glad to be here and I am really looking forward to picking ya'll's brains! Have fun! Dan Member Information: List owner: Ian Sharpe Owner@... Guest guest
Hi Dan, Welcome to the list and hope you enjoy your stay. To answer your questions on the photo section: We are after photos that relate to remote medicine or places of work etc. Yes, a description/picture can be attached, not something I had though of, but will have a look at the mechanism today as I have one such photo set to finish off (Remote medic in China by ). If you are sending in photos, please can you let me know the size of the file in advance so that I can confirm that my mail box is up for the punishment. Hope you enjoy the site and feel free to ask any questions. Guest guest
Twice welcome Dan, I had the privilege many years ago of being taught by Colonel (then Major Nick Rowe and you know what he is famous for without getting into details) and had other exposure to SF. Medical equipment is one of my professional study subjects and it is always good to communicate with someone who uses the kit I study, I am doing a number of online courses through AMEDD, and other professional US military sites as well as UK EMS and Military medical studies. This is a great site, very much like a family. Again welcome. Carpenter Howdy Ya'll > > >Well - guess I'll post a bit about myself as a brand new member. > >My Name is Dan. Guest guest
Hello, My name is . I've never been in a group before. I am 29 and cried myself to sleep practically every night of my life since I was about 3. Every doctor I went to told me I would just grow out of it or that it was in my head. I went to a new doctor today and she told me that she was convinced that I had RA. I don't have my bloodwork back and I haven't went to the ortho yet but she said it would only support her findings. I know nothing about arthritis. I always thought I was too young to have it. She put me on Vioxx until my appointment next week. Is this normal? I have no idea what to expect. After all these years it seems strange to finally have a name to the pain instead of people insinuating that I'm crazy or lazy or both but now I think I am even more worried. Maybe I am the crazy one. If I am please tell me now.
Guest guest
, For starters, the arthritis foundation website (www.arthritis.org) might be a good first stop for you to get information. You have many of us here to help you through what we are all going through ourselves.....if nothing else......just to understand. And we ALL know how important it is to have SOMEONE to understand. Stay in touch! Warm hug, Sandy From: "" Reply-Rheumatoid Arthritis Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: howdy ya'll Date: Wed, 02 Apr 2003 09:07:53 -0000 Hello, My name is . Guest guest
Welcome to the group and condolonces on your RA. Apparently what you had is usually called Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and usually it does just disappear in later years but for some it turns into full blown Rheumatoid Arthritis. Even though it usually strikes people in their 30 ro 40s, nobody is too young or too old to get it. (I was 74 when I got it.) There are seven symptoms identified by the rheumatological association for RA and a positive diagnosis requires signs of at least any four of the seven. I am told there is a list of these on the Arthritis Insight web site and I think it is also somewhere on the WebMD web site. There is a lot of other good information on these sites. If you have trouble finding information let us know and someone can probably supply a link for you. Good luck and God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2003 1:07 AM Subject: howdy ya'll Hello, My name is . I've never been in a group before.
